Hitman2 - Silent Assassin Guide

Sicily Mission

1. The Gontranno Sanctuary:

The Gontranno Sanctuary

[Jump to: The Gontranno Sanctuary | Anathema]

Rolling fields, the setting Mediterranean sun, ripening corn, ancient fortress-like churches, slow growing tomatoes the old fashioned way; a sense of peace and tranquillity that gives you a feeling that, at last, you really are at home. Thought the residents may not know it, Sicily is about to become the origin for a world encompassing trip of intrigue, assassination and skulduggery. Of course, it is the home of the Mafia, but there is one resident of this island who is far more dangerous. Welcome to the refuge of The Hitman, a.k.a. Tobias Rieper, a.k.a. 47. Load-Out

None Available Walkthrough

We start in 47's shed. All the way through this level, you will get regular text messages appearing at the bottom of the screen. Since most of these are not spoken, it is probably worth stopping what you are doing and reading them (especially for a new player). Start the game by walking to the door of the shed, and exiting. You will be greeted by the church priest, Father Vittorio, your mentor. Pay attention to what he says, and when the cut scene ends, he will walk off.

You now have your first opportunity to wonder round the grounds, and get used to your controls. For a new player, probably the most advisable thing to do would be to take the first part of the tutorial available. To do this, enter the door for the ruins, virtually opposite the entrance to the Shed, and follow the directions. When you have made it to the top, walk back down by the alternative route, and leave the ruins. You have covered the basic movement controls for the game.

By this point, you should have heard the bells of the church ringing. It's time for a very big confession. You need to head into the church, and for the benefit of new players, we'll take the long way round. Leave the ruins, and head south. You will see some winding stairs up to a gate. Go up these stairs and through the gate. Go through the entrance to the church (large doors on the right). The door directly opposite you is access for the priest into the confessional, so it's a no-go for you. Enter the door at the far North West (top left as you enter the lobby) to enter the base of one of the towers. Take the only other door in this room to get into the church.

After this, enter the confessional through the curtains, and watch the cut-scene. After this, the priest will leave, and shortly after, there will be a second cut-scene. When you regain control of 47, leave the church the same way you entered, and go directly across the courtyard to the box that has been left for you. After another brief cut scene, you should head back to the shed, and your transformation into 47 will be complete. [Save Game]

At this point, you have as much time as you want before you have to take on your first mission. Diana will request that you go through some further basic training, and if you are a new player, this would be wise. Unfortunately, most of the training is relayed to you as text rather than voice over, so you will have to read everything that appears at the bottom of your screen. The text should remain visible until you have performed whatever action it requests.

The first thing you should do is have a go with the Ballers, either on the well bucket or the melons. Practice shooting, and get used to how your aim wonders from a distance, and with rapid fire. When you run out of ammo, head over to the weapons shed, and pick up everything that is available (there are also items hanging on the walls). You'll also get an idea for how long it takes to pick a lock.

Other than the general firearm controls tuition you will receive, there is also a section for close-kill training, and additional movement controls. Take a look at the area encompassing the scarecrow and the doves. You will want to practice with all of the available close combat tools (there are three) on the scarecrow before you go on any mission. This is especially true of the anaesthetic - holding down the fire button delivers more anaesthetic, resulting in longer periods unconscious. In this area, you will also be told about the sneak, lean and crouch commands, and their potential uses.

After you've done this, the tutorial is complete, and you are able to start your first mission. However, it might be advisable to have a good look round the church and its grounds before you do head off into combat. Don't worry if you don't, since you return here frequently, giving you a chance to test out new weapons acquired during missions. To start your first real mission, enter your shed, and activate the laptop sitting on the work bench.

Anathema

Ah, there's nothing like getting back to a bit of underworld assassination to start off a sequel, is there? The mission briefing is fairly extensive, and tells you most of what you need to know. Load-Out

· Fiber Wire

· Anaesthetic

· Ballers

· 9mm Pistol SD

You have no choice over you pick of weapons for this level, so you'll just have to deal with what you're given! Actually, it is fairly simple to finish this level using only the fiber wire, so you could just dump everything else right at the start. However, as a general rule, it's always good to have backup weapons, since you never know what's going to be round the next corner, or what situation you're going to end up in, so additional means of quick, quiet dispatch are always good. Don't be afraid of knocking off a few extra guards if they are being a pain. It can often be the key to easily finishing a mission. Walkthrough

Rather happily for a first mission, it's easy to get through this level only killing a very few opponents. Firstly, note in the mission briefing that you see a delivery boy and a postman. When gameplay starts, run straight down the hill. You will see the postman coming through the gates. You need his clothes, so either deal with him quickly here, or wait until he stops for a "break," sneak up on him, and wire him.

Once you have his clothes, head up the road to the north (towards the delivery boy). Run if you are out of sight of any guards. You will see some crates on the ground, and when you approach them, you will see the option to place your weapons in here - do it.

From here, return down the road, pick up the flowers the postman dropped, and follow the road west (again running when out of sight of guards) to approach the front gate. You will be searched, and then let through the gates. Keep to the path when you walk up to the main entrance, since you are only the postman, and the guards will get a little bit wary of you if you're not doing what you are there to do - deliver the flowers. Walk up to the front door and get ready to move. [Save Game]

When you enter the main hall, the maid will approach you, and take the flowers from you. When she leaves the room, the guard will briefly follow. Use this opportunity to walk up the stairs. Make sure you do this when he is out of the room, else he will warn you off, and you will have blown your chance using this method. When you reach the first sub-landing, enter sneak mode and continue.

When at the top, check your map of the second floor. The central lower room/corridor should be empty. When you open the door in front of you, you will find yourself in this room. Immediately go to the top left corner of this room, and wait behind the door, preparing your fibre wire. Eventually, a guard will enter the room, walk to the middle and pause. Sneak up on him, wire him, and take his weapon and clothes. Leave by the door you entered, walk down the stairs on the left, and immediately enter the room on your left.

At this point, you are safe. Check the map for patrolling people (including upstairs), head north into the corridor, then east into the kitchen. Here, check that there are three crates, and if not, check for the position of the delivery boy. Again, check the position of patrolling people, and if all is clear, sneak up to the crates and pick up your weapons. [Save Game]

Leave the kitchen by the same door and head due west along the ground floor of the building, until you reach a room with some stairs. You will want to go up the stairs and into the door straight ahead of you. This is the boss' bedroom. Here, wait behind the door, and when the Don enters the room, kill him in your preferred style.

Search his body for a key, head back the way you came from the kitchen, and head down to the basement. Check the room down here then continue round the corner, through the door, and up the stairs to bring you back to the garden. Turn right, go down the hill, through the side gate, and head for the exit. Piece of cake! Welcome to the world of Hitman, and remember, it's always most satisfying to walk away from the scene of a crime.
